Home Learning

Reading

Please support your child to complete their home learning each week. Reading is a key life skill that unlocks the doors to a world of understanding! Please listen to your child read and sign their reading record at least three times a week. Try to encourage your child to read for at least 10 minutes each time.

Spellings

The weekly spelling list will be introduced in class and sent home on a Friday. The children will be tested the following Friday. We  use the Lancashire Red Rose Spelling scheme.

Maths

Please help your child to remember to complete their maths homework each week. In Year 4 the National Curriculum states that children are expected to have a rapid recall of multiplication and division facts to 12x12. The more they practise the quicker they will be! Each week the children will be set homework on Times Tables Rock Stars. The homework should be completed by Wednesday each week.

P.E - Friday

P.E will take place on a Friday. Please make sure your child has their full P.E kit in school at all times as occasionally the day may change. The kit required is black shorts, a white T-shirt and and sporty shoes to change into. Children may wear black tracksuit bottoms or leggings in the colder months.

Swimming currently takes place on Thursday afternoons. Please ensure your child has their swim kit in school each week and they have removed any ear piercings before coming to school.
